In today’s sermon, Pastor Paul used an analogy to illustrate fear and trust in God. He compared a person who is afraid of their own shadow to someone who fears the challenges of life—whether from work, family, school, finances, health, or relationships. However, as stated in Psalms 91:1-16, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Pastor Paul emphasised that there is no need to live in fear as long as we abide in God. He reminded us that to truly live in Him, we must:
Emulate His actions – “Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” (1 John 2:6)
Follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit – “As for you, the anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as His anointing teaches you about all things—and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in Him.” (1 John 2:27)
Obey God’s commandments – “Those who obey His commands live in Him, and He in them. And this is how we know that He lives in us: We know it by the Spirit He gave us.” (1 John 3:24)
By living in this way, we honor God and can stand before Him with confidence and without shame. Pastor Paul concluded by reinforcing the message that those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
