Theme of 2025: "I Love Jesus"

Pastor Paul launched the year’s theme, “I Love Jesus,” with a reminder from 1 John 4:19: “We love because he first loved us.” This verse highlights that our love for Christ is a response to His boundless love for us.

In his sermon, Pastor Paul shared three ways to express our love for Jesus:

1. Following His Commands

Referencing John 14:15—“If you love me, you will obey what I command”—Pastor Paul stressed that true love for Jesus is shown through wholehearted obedience. He urged us not to pick and choose what commands to follow but to align every part of our lives with His teachings.

2. Experiencing God’s Love

In John 14:21 and 14:23, Jesus promises:
“Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”
Obedience invites us to experience God’s love more fully, deepening our relationship with Him and allowing His presence to transform our lives.

3. Building an Eternal Home with God

Jesus further promises in John 14:23: “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” Pastor Paul shared that our love and obedience pave the way for an eternal home with our heavenly Father. This divine home is not just a future promise. Loving Jesus means inviting Him into every aspect of our lives, allowing His love to transform us from within.

Starting the Year Right

Pastor Paul concluded with the reminder that “We love because he first loved us.” He encouraged us to begin the year by reflecting on this sermon and considering how we can deepen our love for Jesus through our daily actions. May His love be the anchor of our lives, guiding us in every step we take.
